Ich leiben mine schnorrbaht

What!?!

That's German for "I love my moustache" Luke has this written up in the staffroom he shares with a German teacher. It goes without saying that I don't share the sentiment, but luckily I have a sense a humor!!!

In the peace and quiet after bedtime the other night I could hear a strange noise. It took awhile for me to register exactly what it was( a noise I hadn't heard in some time.....it was the taptap sound of Luke's razor against the sink. A sound I apparently missed without realising it. I peeked around the door to find the job almost complete. Hooray!! Movember is finally at an end. The long locks got the chop too.....handsome husband is back, roll on the month of December, with good times and good cheer.

Meet the Dawson family

I'm so lucky to have been able to spend a few hours with this lovely family. I got to shoot three generations in the one sitting. I love this shot of Phyllis with her mother and daughter. The shot of Ellen and Eoin is my favorite of the sibling photos and I really love this photo of Phyllis and Ellen together.

Thanks for having me!!

Oh NO!! It's Moevember!!

Now I know it's a good cause but really growing a moustache.... Luke has decided to support the prostate cancer campaign. Where is the moustach you say????? I haven't photographed it yet. I am anti -moustache - in every way shape and form. Luke has always been aware of my position on the issue. I've always had something against facial hair and I am finding it difficult to look at the face I know and love (pictured above) in the same way.

Luke thinks my distaste for the moustache is funny and he is having a good time "doing his bit." Keep checking in and I will post a pic of his efforts over the month (intially he promised he wouldn't have it the entire month but I think he was doing a bit of the "Yes dear".)

I tell ya - Moevember is a LONG month........

Get Together

On Thursday I got to catch up with some ladies who share my passion for photography. It's great to talk about it non stop and know that noone is bored in the slightest. You won't believe it, one of the ladies I had not met before, waving Annie, turns out to know my sister. Small World .
Thought I would share a few photos from the day.

Keep Your Eyes On The Road ....

And Your Hands Upon The Wheel......

Let it roll baby roll.

Well our patience has paid off. We've been wanting a new car for such a long time and it's finally going to happen.

With limited opportunities for shopping for a new lift we have finally decided upon a Honda Civic.
It doesn't arrive until January so until then we will still be driving "Oprah" for awhile longer.

Last weekend we went shopping in the pouring rain. We looked at a Subaru, the dealer was slick and the car was sporty. I took one look at the interior and thought, no this is not the car for us.....
our little dears are rather the dramatic kind and there was just not the space we required.

Off to Toyota to check out the people movers, surely we would find the space we were looking for. We got wet, very wet, only to be shown a blue wagon by a sales lady that could only tell us that the car had four doors, wheels and was blue. The space was there but no charisma!!

Next we went to Honda. Luke had already been for a peek a few weeks earlier. We almost opted to stay in Oprah rather than race out in the rain. In the end I said "might as well - we're here now" . The sales guy knew his stuff but wasn't pushy. Hi Sven!! I opened the door to do my check and thought YES!! The space was just right. Not too big not too small.

I've included a link to a movie/ad for our car (Click on the title and it will take you there) and check out the pic above.

EXCITED!!

First Time For Everything

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to photograph this lovely family. This is the first time I've taken photos for people other than family and friends. They were so releaxed and welcoming. THANK YOU. They made it a really fun experience and these little girls are just gorgeous. I hope you like them Leigh and David. There are plenty more to come.......
